COVID-19 Sunday School Announcement (March 19, 2020)

COVID-19 Sunday School Announcement (March 19, 2020)

Precious Children’s Ministry Families,
As many of you may know, we, as elders, have made the difficult decision to suspend all of our regular church gatherings (please see the notice below).
This suspension will include children’s ministry.  We are trying to put together a weekly recording of the Sunday school lesson to be sent out, including color sheet and activities for the children to do at home.  I will send out more information if I am able to make this work.
This unexpected break in normal activities can provide a precious opportunity for you to spend more time discipling your children.  May each of us be more committed than ever to lead regular family devotions.  Please let me know if you need any help, suggestions for resources, or counsel on how to lead devotions.  I am more than happy to talk with you and help you.
The Fighter Verse program is a wonderful encouragement during these times and I encourage you to keep working on memorizing verses together as a family.  Our family is working together on Psalm 5:11:  “But Let all who take refuge in you be glad, let them ever sing for joy; and may you shelter them, that those who love your name may exult in You.”  https://www.truth78.org/fighter-verses
There are also some other great resources for discipling your children through this trial here:  https://www.truth78.org/blog/post/continuing-discipleship-when-sunday-school-is-cancelled/
One of these resources that I really want to highlight is God’s Names by Sally Michael.  https://www.truth78.org/gods-names  This is an outstanding family devotional resource to help the whole family think about who our great God is.  It also includes ideas for family activities, such as making a poster of God’s Names.  The book is available for purchase through Truth 78 or through Amazon.  It is also available on Kindle.
Lastly, one other neat opportunity available,  The Creation Museum is posting 3 educational videos a day to Ken Ham’s Facebook page.  I am sure there are other special opportunities that your family can enjoy during this time.
Please know that I am praying for each of you and your precious families.  May Christ be glorified in us.
